Pantry Space
My friends and neighbors are awfully trusting of this self-taught carpenter! This is my first time building shelves for a pantry. There were high ceilings to add shelves all the way up and just enough room for a custom spice rack. There is usually wasted space in new homes. Pantries and closets with high ceilings could always use extra shelving for more storage. The laminated shelving works better in this pantry than the short metal ones used before (upper left).
Coastal Dining Decor
I made this centerpiece for my own table out of wood. Paint, starfish knobs, sand and seashells and I have a beachy table decoration. It will be fun to change the contents for holidays.
Beach Craft
I saw something similar to this paint brush craft used for a beach wedding. The bride and groom's names and wedding date were printed on the handle and they were set in a basket for guests.
I painted mine for welcome baskets as I wanted my Florida guests to have some beach goodies when they got here.

wood burning on cedar
I used the wood burner, acrylics and spar urethane to decorate the tops of these boxes. The inside has bark for the butterflies to land on.
Lizard Photography
There are so many lizards around the house. I can't help but put down the hammer for a minute to get a good photo of these funny creatures.

Better Looking Laundry Storage
I could not stand having the white metal shelf in my laundry room. The door is always open, so I thought I would attempt to make my own shelves. I did it!! I am just learning to build my own furniture and I am certainly not an pro, but I was pleased with the way my shelves turned out. I even made my own corbels!
I wasn't able to get a photo of the full shelf because it goes wall to wall, but you can see from this photo I have a lot more storage space and it's just a bit nicer to look at than metal shelves.

Outdoor Bar Art
This piece of art was designed for an outdoor bar. It was made with barn wood, plywood and scrap pieces that were found or given to me. The bottom piece will be used as a shelf and is not attached. It is very heavy and will need brackets underneath for support. I really enjoyed making this and can hardly wait to see it installed!

Frame for Mom
I bought an unfinished frame at Michael's. I drew on the design, then used my wood burning tool and Dremel to carve on the lines. I used acrylics to paint it. I think by placing a piece of wrapping paper inside the frame before the photo is inserted makes it look better when you're giving it as a gift. This one is for my Mom. What a wonderful time we had in Colorado with our family this year!
