fun

All of my yard display orders are done. I have so much fun painting for the holidays. With help from my friends and neighbors, Santa will be in the front of the subdivision along with lots of lights and packages instead of moving around the inside of my house scaring my kids. Paul and I have been having a little fun moving Santa around the house. My teens say he's creepy. How can Santa be creepy?! Well, if you woke with Santa at the end of your bed in the morning, or Santa was standing at the top of the stairs, or you turned on your lights in the bathroom and there was Santa winking in the mirror....maybe a little. Parents have to have fun too. Merry Christmas everybody!

ACRYLIC ON CANVAS

Acrylic on wood. This was done for my friend Pat's back porch. Pat has fabric to recover her outdoor furniture, which was the inspiration for this piece. It'll be great to see the whole thing come together.

I painted a sky and added white lights around my back porch.

I'm going for a beach cottage look.
I painted the table & sanded the edges. The seahorse was cut from wood, painted and sanded. I put out plants that grow well in the humid weather and put shells everywhere.

Butterfly Boxes

Here is Mom, Dad & Baby Bluebird. The birdhouse was inspired by John Lithgow's Micawber, illustrated by C.F. Payne.

The Freeport Bulldog birdhouse is a donation for a Freeport High School Band Booster drawing at their Spring Concert. The squirrel birdhouse is in my own backyard this year. Eastern Bluebirds made this their home. I went to great lengths to make sure that they weren't taken by raccoons or snakes and I'm happy to report that 4 babies have left the nest. I even have pictures of their flying lessons!

My art this summer is all about the birds and the bugs. I've been making and selling birdhouses and butterfly houses.
